The four quadrants illustrate how information about us can be known in varying degrees by ourselves and others.<\/p>\n<p>Pay special attention to the \u201cBlind Self\u201d quadrant. These are the areas where you are <strong>unaware of how you are perceived. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This concise <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?time_continue=2&amp;v=DEHh-vYGC20\">video<\/a> by Brendan Baker Media breaks down the model. At 3:25, Brendan offers suggestions for getting feedback to help fill in those blind spots.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #3385ff;\"><strong>Knowledge may Sting but it\u2019s Priceless<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>In my last blog post, I shared how I asked a colleague\u2019s observations of interactions (including my own) at a recent event. This got me to thinking: <em>how often do we ask others how they perceive us?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It may feel strange to ask, and we may even feel vulnerable, but what you might get back could be priceless. For instance, it could help:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Increase the success of our communications <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Be more memorable in a sea of human interactions<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Improve how we impact people positively <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Limit how we impact others negatively<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Reduce unconscious negative behaviors, both verbal and non-verbal <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #3385ff;\"><strong>An End of Year Challenge from me to you<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>I challenge you to ask <u>one person<\/u> for feedback before the end of 2017. (Bonus points if you ask one person in a couple different areas of life:\u00a0 professional, family, social circle\u2026) Take this learning and <strong>apply it to how you present yourself and how you interact with others in the new year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Observation is my craft and I am always happy to share what I\u2019ve observed if someone asks me.
